Admissions To Residential Group Care

Boles Children's Home offers residential group care to boys and girls who are unable to live with family/conservators. The goal is to empower youth to grow into productive members of society and to encourage spiritual development.

The tools used to work toward this goal are loving care and clinical skills from a well trained staff of child care workers, professional social workers, family therapists, and counselors.

Steps To Enrollment:

  • Contact the Intake Worker at the Shero Professional Service office at (903) 883-2088.
  • An application will be forwarded.
  • After the application is returned, an interview is scheduled if it is determined that the child may meet criteria for admission.
  • A decision regarding admission is determined after the interview process.
  • Criteria For Admission:

  • Boys and girls, ages 7 to 16
  • Child must agree to placement
  • Admitted only by legal guardian
  • Fees: sliding scale
  • Texas DPRS Levels (level basic and moderate)
  • Able to function in public schools
  • Able to comprehend motivational systems
  • No history of firesetting
  • Not dangerous to self or others
  • No addictive substance abuse
  • IQ 80 or above
  • Not pregnant
  • Required Documentation:

  • Birth Certificate
  • Social Security Card
  • Current school records
  • Current immunization records
  • Current custody or court papers
  • Insurance information
  • Psychological testing, if available
